Volkswagen Fault Codes and OBD-II Code List
About Volkswagen Fault Codes
When the check engine light appears on your Volkswagen, the On-Board Diagnostic (OBD-II) system has detected a stored fault within one of the vehicle’s monitored systems. Each fault is recorded as a unique diagnostic trouble code to help identify the affected area or component.
If the light has only just come on and you haven’t read the code yet, we can read it for you as part of our diagnostics or Volkswagen servicing.
These codes are commonly used across many modern Volkswagen models and can relate to systems such as the engine, gearbox, emissions control and vehicle electronics.
If you have access to a diagnostic scanner, you may be able to retrieve the fault code yourself, or bring your vehicle to us for a structured diagnostic inspection using dealer-level diagnostic equipment and manufacturer-compatible software.
